Would you date someone who is missing an arm or a leg?

I've met a guy who is super sweet, he's pretty cute, but he is missing an arm (he was born without it). I am having some trouble getting over it, I don't know why either... He says it doesn't slow him down and I wouldn't think it would in most things... My question to you all is would you persue a relationship with someone missing an arm or a leg? Could you handle it well, or how would you deal with it?

Ya know, once I was at a computer lab and I was talking with my friends for like an hour and this guy sitting at a computer across from us would laugh every now and then when I'd say something. I mean, we couldn't see him too well, but his face was kinda cute. Before he left, he walked right up to me and was like hey, I'm so-and-so and stuck out this cold, tiny nub thing, like a baby hand. I was shocked and a little sickened when I shook it, but after he asked for my number and I told him I had a boyfriend, I felt really regretful, and not even in a pity way. I was like ya know, that sucks, he's probably a great guy. And I think if I didn't have a boyfriend, I'd have gone for it because he was really confident and he acted like it was totally normal. There was no shame. I admired him for that.

I would be proud of him. Think about it, he has it double hard to do everything, and still he goes on with his life, he doesn't want people to pity him or anything.

If he's comfortable with himself why wouldn't you be? Everytime I see someone like this guy I feel that they are super special people. You shouldn't treat him different because, probably, all he wants is to be just like anyone else.

For me it would depend on how they dealt with it themselves. If they are able to cope and they can get around fine both physically and emotionally then I would be OK with it. Before I started dating her though I would want to get to the point that the missing limb is a non issue. Like I would want to be able to hang out with her without even thinking about it. Focus on him, not his missing arm.

This is true... I think it just freaks me out that he doesn't have two hands, it's not typical. I knew a guy who had a prosthetic leg, I was fine with that, no problem, but he wore long pants most of the time too.

hard for someone your age to deal with the issues that would come up dating a guy with one arm. cheers to you if you can get past it.

I wouldn't mind at all if somebody was independent and able to handle everything the same as a person with all their limbs.
