I met somebody with a prosthetic leg and he looks perfectly normal and can walk like anyone else. He says that once girls find out he has a prosthetic leg they lose interest.
3.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. When I was in my twenties I had meant a girl. She had no arms no legs. We started hanging out. Became very close very fast.. . I wasn't really dating her but a lot of people thought that we were even my cousin and my cousin started hanging out with us.
And one day he asked me what my intentions were with her because he said that he fell in love with her and he wanted to talk to me about it first.
I told him we're just good friends and I asked him to see if you really love her and he said yes he wanted to date her.
So I told her about it.. and it was funny. Because we both. Looked at it the same way with positive s and negatives. .
And the fact is he was not my cousin he had married my cousin and then they divorced but he was a good guy and I called him my cousin. . Anyway she ended up marrying him and they were married for almost I think 9 years..
She was a sweetheart you just didn't want. Her to pinch you because it hurt LOL. ..
Like I've always said when you're with a person you're either with them because of who they are on the inside.
Is their heart their soul their spirit is what you fall in love with.
The outside is all just an extra bonus in most cases..
. Her arms her legs didn't make her who she was it was her heart her strength her wisdom her laughter her love her life. The struggle to fight to be just like everybody else without being seen in a different manner.
Even knowing that it couldn't be helped.
She was a friend of one of my friends that I really liked and one day went introduced I was watching and listening and the girl with no arms no legs was trying to do something and she told my friend she couldn't do it.
And I saw the way that she could do it. I showed her and looking her eyes melted me because of the passion the strength to desire the pain the hurt that she has to go through every day to be just like us things we take for granted.. . I admired that strength that fight within to succeed..
. To be just like us.
Not to be normal because what is normal
. To get through each day as smooth as possible without any obstacles.
And when we come up against something we go around it same with her just a little bit more challenging and that strengthen that wisdom and that wants that desire to do that to fight for each and every day..
I don't care who you are I don't care who you think you are if you were depressed if you were down and out you have to remember one thing we as human beings are fighters we will fight... Anything that gets in our ways to stay alive too to make things work some people have depression they feel bad for themselves so they take the long way around it takes more time to see the things that are going to help them but eventually they find themselves and they start one foot in front of the other and all that time wasted to get to their destiny that we are all trying to get to is there learning experience
But we all have a destiny we all have a goal we all have a fight to get there we all have roadblocks.
And to get there we all need each other.
... No man no woman no child no pet no living breathing thing left behind.
... No matter who you are no matter what you think your destiny is
The end result is
One with self one with others one with this universe we are all pieces of the puzzle and we all have to fit
I know it sounds like I'm just rambling.
. I don't know if it was this page my last page that I had.
But I ask the question about everybody here on gag doing something all at the same time to see if it would work this brings me back to that same time I will ask the question again someday soon but anyway I would date somebody no matter who they are because the end result is we are all the person on the inside not the outside30 Reply

1 yIn this world no one is perfect & if I met a lovely lady with a prosthetic leg or arm if she wanted to go on a date I would certainly give her a chance.
If you ever date someone with one leg just don’t take them to IHOP.
13 ReplyFunny looking too! Just don’t piss off you date or she will beat you with her prosthetic leg or arm.
892 opinions shared on Dating topic. It takes a special person to love a person who has a imperfection such as that.
It's not impossible though. Some women love a man for who he is and what he stands for. They can look right passed the prosthetics.
If people would only take the time to get to know the person, they might very well fall in love with him.
My boyfriend (that passed away suddenly last year) he was really big on that. He used to say it didn't matter to him at all what she looked like, because he would love that person for who they were inside.
He was quite a man and I really miss him.
He did get to know me and no man ever did that before. He was so inquisitive about what made me who I am. He took the time to ask me questions about myself and he really loved me like no one else! I consider every well loved, even though he is gone now.
I have a memory box that is full of greeting cards he gave me and they are so beautiful and complimentary with his praises for me.
I loved him very much too. He was the sweetest man I have ever known.💔35 Reply

1 ySure, why not? I've dated women who have had partial mastectomies. What's the big deal with a prosthetic?

1 yNot sure. Maybe no to be honest. If he became ill and have to have surgery, I will continue to live and support him.
to think of it.
My first hubby had ulcerative colitis when we met … he used to joke that he will be thrown into the jew pile for being so skinny at 6’2 135 pounds… 6 months into dating he needed to have his large colon taking out and had to have a j-pouch inside. he has been well since 😊my hubby now was born with a condition (forgot the name) his heart never closed all the way (quarter size opened) .. so he had a serious heard surgery around 30 years old.
when he met me I broken my foot and he stood by my side (not by choice lol) …
so I think we are not perfect and take time to understand and love each other to see if we are good fit at then end.

It’s common… and surgery generally takes care of that.
Except his was not detected till later on into his late 20s… when he started to feel really tired then had his surgery around 30 years old.
It’s still kinda scary to work on that kind of surgery for your new born grand baby.
How many grand kids do you have?

1 yIf I was single? Yes why not? If you like someone, then you THEM not their individual body parts. How shallow would a person have to be to meet their dream man (or woman) meaning they are perfect for you in every way, but they lost a limb in an accident, or in WAR! I mean we've just recently ended the longest war in US history! There must be thousands, if not tens of thousands of men who are missing limbs. I cannot imagine rejecting a guy because he lost a limb fighting for his country! That’s terrible. I hope most women are like me and don’t care about that sort of thing.
I hope this helps

1 yMy pal, Woody, had two legs, but one was wooden. He later got one of the Robo-cop type that worked better. I don't remember ever even talking about it.
As for your question, yes, I'd date someone like that. But Woody had a live-in girlfriend, and we all three liked to hang out.

My mom still fell for him and married him.
I never saw handicap as a weakness.
That being said It does come down to the person.
I wouldn't date an amputee out of pitty for instance. she still has to be an amazing woman with qualities I find appealing10 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yYeah. Because think about it. You could be the one with the prosthetic appendage tomorrow, next week, month, or year. Also I've met some women with prosthetics that are far more active then me. How can you not be inspired by that. I will confess it would suck to know you'd never get a 2 armed hug from her. But be consoled by the fact that she probably gives an amazing one armed one.
One arm or one leg does not change the fact that she's has FULL heart.

308 opinions shared on Dating topic. No, I can't date a person with prosthetic arm or leg. I am perfectly fine and healthy person. So I would like to find a girlfriend who suits me. I think a woman with prosthetic arm or leg can be a perfect match to a man with prosthetic arm or leg. Sooner or later he will find a woman who will accepts him. God has made soulmate for everyone!

1 yAbsolutely. There are many attractive girls with prosthetic arms or legs. As long as I'm physically attracted to them and compatible personality-wise, I definitely would. I wouldn't pass on my dream girl just because has a prosthetic arm or leg. I'd be pretty dumb to do that.
00 Reply 572 opinions shared on Dating topic. Sure, why not? But then again, I’m not high maintenance so things like that don’t matter to me. It’s about the person.

1 ySure , or blind. I don't want to date a person that uses F word every 10 seconds or a woman that has tattoos. A woman with Tattoos is a weird , freak, or wild person. I would not date a Catholic either. If she comes from a divorced family , i would probably pass. I don't want to date a smoker or pot smoker. I can't date liberals. I also don't want a drinker.
00 Reply 934 opinions shared on Dating topic. Yes. All things being equal if I was into them anyhow something like that would have no impact on my interest. Except perhaps I would respect the fact they were able to deal with it bc everything we do is 10X harder with a disability.
00 ReplyWouldn't have an issue with it. If you get the feels for someone nothing matters!!
