What does it mean if a guy dodges a question?

So I was talking to this guy & we both know we each like each other but I asked him to go to the movies on the weekend and he dodge the question by texting back "poop" then I said "what" and he goes "idk I'm tired"... what does this mean!? does he not like...idk want to see me or what?

Yeah, it means he didn't want to say no, but he also didn't want to go out with you.

I text people back when they text me, no matter whether I like them or not. It's common courtesy.
