Girls, iMessage reaction the end of a conversation?

Me and this girl started back texting. She then asks a question, I answer with a joke, and she sends the iMessage laughing reaction with no actual text response. This has happened before with another girl but I kept the conversation going and things successfully moved forward. In general, do you all think I'm thinking too hard into this or are iMessage reactions just a way of ending things?

Depends. More than one iMessage reactions in a row? She’s over the conversation or doesn’t have time to chat right then. Another indicator would be how responsive she is, if her responses are really short she likely isn’t invested in the conversation.

Also, and this is just my opinion, but if the reaction was the thumbs up one, you’re done right then and there. There is some (possible) leeway if it was a different one.
