The "Jersey Shore" mentality.

It seems being a part of the night scene at the Jersey Shore is all about hitting the club, getting wasted, and hooking up with some random tramp/stud and then doing the same exact thing the very next night.

I mean, you'd think this would lead to a horribly empty and lonely life - to keep hooking up with random people or one night stands. And it is NOT just guys that are into it either.

So what is the deal? Is it just a fad? Is it a lifestyle? A phase? How do you feel about it?

i agree with the first girl comment.. you calling the tramps for girls, and stud for guys... that's unfair.. :P but anyways.. I think it's such a stupid show... these people will just have stupid memories of how they always got wasted and had sex every night and would fight all the time.. kinda stupid really, in my opinion.. they are such posers, they think all of this is the good life.. they are so immature and idiotic. they're like wat? 30-40 years old? if you were in your twenties that'd be fine but common..

also, not only they're idiotic and immature, but rude, cocky and such sex addicts.

i absolutely hate that show, I hate when my friends talk about it since they like it so much, I think its embarassing if you like that show, because then others think you relate with the shows mentality and ugh its so stupid, unintelligent and such trashy crap. I hate mtv in general.

I hate it...wish that people my age did less lame activities than drink and all the crap that goes with it! Think big cities have an edge than smaller ones though (more cultural events there)!

I'd say a fad/phase. Even on the actual show you can tell they weren't happy just doing that crap. It's a temporary happiness. It's hard to say if it's a phase though because they're like 30 years old. lol

i don't live life like this, never done it in my life. but if people do it for a few years in their 20s and then move on I don't see a problem. everyone doesn't have to be in meaningful near-marriage relationships to be happy
