Girls, Why did a female co-worker look sad when she thought I had quit my job?

Someone told me from work she seemed concerned when she thought I quit my job. Her response was like an "oh no" response and saying my name. Her behaviour went all reserved towards these people. But then someone clarified it wasn't me that quit my job. She was relieved. What does this mean?

She has known my for a while and we've spoken heaps. Like she and I naturally are drawn together the moment we see each other. For sometime now she is suddenly shy with me for no apparent reason.

What about the fact my mate told me when he was talking to her. He noticed her eyes drifted to me and he eyes followed me as I walked past. He told me she was looking at me when I walk past. When I talk to her she plays with her and lightly stroking the side of her neck
