Girls, What do you think of guys taking martial arts or self defense classes?

I'm a huge supporter of anyone taking martial arts classes (may be slightly biased, as I have been practicing martial arts for 13 years)! Martial arts is a great way to gain confidence in yourself and your body. In addition, it's a great way to stay in shape while doing a fun activity. In general, women and men appreciate people with interests, hobbies, and self confidence, so martial arts can certainly provide those. Of course, don't do it if you find you don't enjoy it, and find a good and reputable club.

I hope this goes without saying, but just in case: do not use what you learn in martial arts to intimidate or overpower anyone around you, male or female.

Shotokan Karate and jiu jitsu

Have you heard of Krav maga? I tried it but was a lot more intense than I was expecting

Yeah, I had a friend doing Krav Maga. It's not my favorite, bc a lot of the techniques in it can't be used in sparring (lots of eye-gouging/joint breaking). And I definitely enjoy martial arts as a sport rather than simply self defense, so I love sparring. However, Krav Maga is great for realistic self defense

Yeah I took Krav for about 6 months. I always found it hard to get partnered w women because I grew up being taught never to hit a girl, and you kinda have to hit people In those classes.

Like you mentioned it’s pretty aggressive, the girls don’t hold back with things like groin kicks and stuff, even with a cup, those hurt!
