Girls, is it okay to hit a guy in the nuts for self-defense?

I often disagree with my female friends about this. They get mad and I don’t get why that’s a thing. In my opinion, girls shouldn’t do it simply because it’s a cheap shot. It’s goes to far in causing the attacker pain that it can be cruel.
