So my boyfriend and I are about the same height, I'm just a little taller. But I also weigh about 40 pounds more than him. I don't think he minds, but he definitely knows. There have been things that he has said about it that made me really uncomfortable. Is it weird to feel really self conscious about it? I'm already really uncomfortable with my weight, and I feel like this makes it worse for me...

He wouldn't have wanted to date you if he didn't think you were beautiful. But some guys are insecure Assholes and if he is saying anything to make you feel bad - leave him and don't look back. And what I have discovered and know to be 100% true is that no matter what shape, size -whatever- The most attractive quality about a person is CONFIDENCE. It goes for guys and girls. Nothing is sexier and more appealing than a person who isn't ashamed about the way they look. You can tell by the way they hold their head up, the way they walk and move, if they smile and make good eye contact. It is more powerful than good looks. A drop dead girl can look unattractive if she lacks self esteem. I see it all the time. And a person who isn't "perfect" will attract every guy around. Its called charisma and it has NOTHING to do with a dress size.

It's normal that you mind weighing a little more than him, I would also mind, most girls mind.

What you have to consider is how much you mind, because if it has gotten to the point when you are really uncomfortable near him, then that affects the relationship horribly.

And what do you mean by ''there have been things that he has said about it''? He shouldn't have made fun of it or anything, only you know what he said, but a partner should never ever make you feel hurt on purpose.

Talk to him and let him know how are you feeling, but I also feel like suggesting that if he doens't care that much about your weight why should you?

I mean, I don't support people who don't take care of themselves, but if you are just a little bit more heavy than him doesn't make you ''fat''.

it's not weird because we're trained by society to expect the opposite in a couple. But honestly, if you take nothing else from this site, take this, it does not matter. When you find someone that your'e into and they're into you, you should be with them. Screw anything else. It's not often we find someone that we want to be with.

He's probably saying stuff because he is insecure with it himself. He may not feel like he is man enough for you. He shouldn't be making you feel bad about yourself though because of it. If it continues, might be time to find a more secure man.
