My crush tried to get near me step-by-step silently and secretly, what does this mean?

Today, I was at school and we the boys were playing football outside while I was watching them the entire time, the girls' group was in front of us and could be seen. After some time of me watching them play football the girl that I like for some reason while speaking with the girls' got closer to me with a 5-meter gap. I honestly didn't mind it at first but things got different when I heard a very silent step noise. I immediately suspected her. When I felt her looking somewhere else I looked at the distance and she was nearer to me just as I expected. After that I looked at the boys' again for some short time and looked somewhere else again purposefully when I did I heard a step noise once again, I did the same thing again and measured the distance again, she was just getting closer, she repeated this 3-4 times until the 5-meter gap was 3 meters. I was getting anxious and nervous now. After the steps, she stopped getting closer and she's emotions weren't changed everything the same, the same smiling face. I got confused and turned my back when I did it she (for some reason) walked in front of me as soon as I turned my back and she took the long way when she could just go from the left side (which was way shorter).
What does this mean?
