Might sound offensive: why do flat chested girls wear bra?

I apologise if i might sound rude, but why do some women who are nearly flat chested or have small breast sizes would wear bra?

(If i sound ignorant about bra or something, kindly let me know what exactly is the purpose of bra)

Because we find it more comfortable.

I have small boobs but I still like the feeling of support. I also like to have an extra bit of fabric between my boobs and whatever top I'm wearing, it's more comfortable. Some tops look better with a bra than braless. There's a lot of reasons really.

Some women wear bras because they don't want nipples poking out from their blouse. Some women wear bras because it makes them feel more feminine. Some women wear bras because they are padded and a padded bra creates the illusion of larger boobs.

I asked this to someone that has almost nothing and she said it protects her from getting bumped into a little more and from shirts rubbing and irritating her nipples

Protect from what exactly? Like if breasts are accidentally grazed (like accidentally someone touches their elbow) and the girl does not have a bra on, would it be painful?

If it's hard yeah. But I meant more the shirt, the general activity, like a sports bra you wear during sports so you can run and not have irritation or jerking bouncing or anything.

I have an average size. I prefer v shaped because they hide boners effectively. In case if I get wet dreams, it acts as a safety net.
