Why do some girls wear a bra that shows blatantly through a shirt?

My boyfriend posed this question, because he's completely lost when it comes to this sort of thing.

A girl he knows frequently walks around in public wearing one of those "semi-see-through" shirts, like the ones from Aeropostale and AE. Obviously, these shirts were meant to be layered. Either she doesn't get that, or she likes showing off the color of her favorite bra.

Guys and girls alike, what is your take on this? Is this behavior strange? Amusing? Acceptable? Disgusting?

What goes through your mind when you see a girl dressed like this?

And most importantly, WHY do you think she would do this?

If I like how something looks on me, regardless of what ANYONE thinks, I wear it! :]!

I have some shirts like that and I love how I look in them, I have nice boobs and nice bras too haha. If it looks good why not wear it? I never do it with the purpose to get attention, sure it might seem like it and people are quick to judge. But I just like it! Compliments are welcome, I really don't care who likes it or not. Though, I wouldn't wear that to a church, or anywhere the like.

If I like it, I wear it. What everybody else think is their business and everybody is entitled to their own opinion. That's not to say that some people do do it for the sole purpose of attention, though, I don't judge because I do wear very alluring clothing and not for THAT specific purpose. :]!

I don't really think anything of it. Granted it can be done distastefully: link but I generally don't think it's a big deal. I think they look cute when loose and teamed with something girlie or whatever.

I like how guys flatter themselves by assuming that when a girl wears something she considers fashionable and makes her feel good, it makes her trashy and attention seeking. Sigh. Only in America.

See through shirts are "in" at the moment

I like the look of flowy see through shirts. Plus, guys at my school pay no mind to how short a girls shorts are or whether her bra shows, so they don't act like a**holes about it.

I like them and I wear them. But I don't wear brightly colored/designed bras because it takes away from the shirt itself.

People who down voted us are judgmental people who assume only attention whores wear sexy, or revealing clothing. Reminds me of those very religious people who are always criticizing and judging others thinking "they" (themselves) are saints. Ironic.

I think she might be a bit of an exhibitionist or she doesn't really give it any real thought and thinks it's sexy and gives her the attention she wants.

Nothing really goes through my mind when I see a girls bra through such a shirt, maybe if she wasn't wearing a bra then I would have thought, "Wow BOOBS!" but that would have been that.

I see attention seeker, gets her ego up when guys notice her. I also see a potential one night stand. The style is acceptable but it is not classy.

I think that she is try to get some guy attention. If it is in a private place, she wants to send a signal to him that she is available , and she want him. Sometimes, it does work.

They do it for style.not something I'd do, but it doesn't always look bad when other girls do, depends on the style of shirt and bra

I always see at least a few girls a week at my community college do this. I figure either they want to show off to a guy/or guys or they think it is a cute look too wear.
