Why does a shy girl make strong eye contact while im explaining something to her?

I was in school doing agriculture on the farm. She is shy and does not talk to people, but she did talk to me for the first time. She asked me if I could help show her how to handle the sheep lead which is odd since she has watched everyone do it.

I also helped her at the end of the lesson after i saw her struggling to take off the halter (like dog collar for livestock) off. I then explained how to take it off while I looked at the halter and the moment i looked up and made eye contact she was already looking into my eyes.

What does this mean?

So from my perspective, it kinda sounds like she’s interested in you. Coming from a shy girl, I usually don’t make eye contact with people as it feels really intense and makes me uncomfortable; but when I do find someone I like, I try to make eye contact with them so they know that I’m invested in their thoughts and opinions. I think guys notice the difference when I am genuinely interested in what they have to say vs someone that I have to listen to. I’ll also pull the “help” card when I want them to spend more time explaining something to me.

Since not all people are the same, I’d just watch a bit more and see if she tries anything else besides eye contact or help with things. She could just be more comfortable with you and might see you as a friend because you’re nice to her. Hope this helped a little bit!
