Does respect look like interest when it’s not?

I used to have a lot of respect for a religious guy I knew and I posted about it online and everybody here said they thought I acted like I liked him and that maybe I liked him and didn’t realize it.

I did not see the original, where you were expressing respect, but I would not consider showing respect as a sign of being attracted or liking another person. Consider the age of the people who responded to the post.

There is a thin line between respect and love interest but sometimes people make double meaning out of nothing

Sometimes people mistake intentions. I'm a person who likes to make other feel included and compliment people, because you know a compliment doesn't hurt. People often mistake me being nice as flirty. I guess this could be something similar. Only you know whether or not you were trying to be nice, or if you liked him more. I wouldn't worry about it too much 😊
