Am I wrong for wanting to take over bathing?

I was trying to tell my girlfriend I wanted to take over bathing duties for our toddler. I work a lot and I feel he calls for her a lot more than being worried about me. So I brought up having bonding time with our son through bathing him and that I want to take over the task. She instantly went into a rage saying how I wanted to take that away from her then broke up with me for it. I feel I barely spend time with him and would like that intimate time to make my bond stronger. Am I wrong from this? I’m am going to stick with my guns but I would like to know the morality of it.

That's a strange and huge over reaction from her. When she calms down, I suggest you sit down and talk about it with her. To react like that, something else is going on with her or she's got the wrong idea about why you want this? Are you fighting about anything else? That's just like "wtf?" lol But communication and both of you understanding where the other is coming from, and if need be, compromising! Such as you split this maybe? One day she does it, the next you. Shouldn't be something that you're fighting over.

Your a guy you will be his favorite in a few years if you stick around. Mommy is going to be the favorite always the first years. Its nature you will have to accept it, kids don't do 50/50.

That isn't true. Most boys stay mamas boys for a long time even sometimes into adulthood

Not if they have a willing father that play with them. And still run the household. Not some whipped sissy. That boy needs to really scared if he stays a mommy boy until adulthood. Both parents should be part of a kids life. It's a balance.

Haha I don't know I have 3 boys and they naturally just like me better even tho their dad is active in their lives. Ofc it's good to have a balance but kids will always have a parent that they'd turn to more

Why don't y'all just do it together? Me and my hubby bathe the baby together since he is small and wiggly it can be hard for one person to do it.
