Why does my married coworker get jealous of me talking to other women?

I work in a office, and are friends with a married coworker. We are friendly text and joke but never to flirty just innocent fun. But I've noticed when I flirt with other women her demeanor changes and is seemingly jealous. She gets very irritated and starts acted distant and cold towards me. I doubt she is the cheating type so why would she be jealous?

It's possible that she sees you as her source of male attention when she's at work. She feels somewhat threatened by you giving that attention to other women.
She also may be a bit jealous because deep sown she wants to flirt with you, but she's married. She might think of you as her potential back-up option if she gets sick of her husband.
Getting closer and closer with that woman is likely going to lead to an affair if she starts liking you more than her spouse.

Same here. I have become good friends with a female co-worker who is also married, her name is Fernanda. We have lunch together almost everyday. We help each other on the job and even gossip together about work stuff. Sometimes she will even hang around my desk waiting for me to finish up for the day before saying goodbye. While I have made my intentions clear, she casually reminds me she has a husband by bringing it up in conversation every now and then.
My gut says she likes me but her body language closes-up whenever I try to get close. Crossed arms, leaning away, never asking personal questions. One worded responses when it's not work related.
Lately, a batch of new-hires have started their training and one of them (a cute blonde) is giving me the green light to approach. I'm talking locking eyes and smiling here.
Before there was no physical contact between us, now Fernanda has been slowing ramping it up. Light touches on my shoulder to get my attention and wanting to be close to me whenever possible. Conversations aren't so dry anymore but I'm still the one initiating and keeping it flowing.
I suppose I am just a backup to her if things don't workout with her husband. All i know for sure is that love is a hell of a rollercoaster.
