That's my wife. Over and over. It's a miraculous feeling to have a partner who believes in you and has your back. It's inspiring and makes me feel loved, valued, warm and secure.
She has inspired me to do things I didn't know I could do because she believed in me. I believe and trust in her just as strongly. She's been there for me many times and I'll be there for her no matter what. That's how we've been for 26 years.
So I actually aid this to my S/O (i loathe the word boyfriend). So he had a bit of a crisis and went semi MIA so I was all suspicious naturally. Anyway, he's backish and said to me I am the best thing in his life. My naturally inclination is to be suspicious. Should I cut the kid some slack?
It's hard to know why he reacted that way. I wonder if he is afraid of commitment or something. Or could he have taken it as condescending, as if you were implying that he didn't measure up and needed encouragement? Either way, it's his issue.
Words like that from my woman make me feel 10 feet tall.
A couple funny stories: On my first date with my (future) wife, we totally hit it off. Time just flew as we chatted in the restaurant. When they started vacuuming under our table, we realized that they were closed. So we walked out to our cars in the parking lot and continued chatting. When we were ready to leave, we found that the parking lot gate had been locked. So I hopped over the 6" cinder block wall and got someone from the restaurant to open the gate. Later, when my wife related that story to her friends, it was apparent that she thought I was a super hero for hopping over that wall. LOL That made me feel good.
Another time, we were riding in the back seat of her friend's car. The wife in the shotgun seat said something (I don't remember what), and my wife spontaneously blurted with complete assurance, "Oh, _____ (me) can do ANYTHING." That is some powerful belief! LOL The two in the front seat glance back at her and concealed their amusement.
Over the years, she has come to realize that I'm not actually superman even though she still looks up to me as much as I look up to her. But she has repeatedly proven that she is 100% there for me.
Hahaha. She so knows you aren't superhero but you make her feel like she has one. We women know.
No he has problems with work, money friends and his family and still isn't over his Dad's death. He is struggling spiritually as well. Also, he's really young and is trying to establish himself. He's mega stressed.
A good man reciprocates, A bad man takes advantage. I would reciprocate that & would never forget it. Would make me feel more confident to take things further. Would also depend on if her eye contact / body language confirmed what she was saying.
All the stale air in the world would crackle like forest fog in the morning. Every curse and hateful thing would ring like heaven's choir. And I would know why Adam waxed poetic upon seeing Eve. But mostly I would make sure she knew I would repay that 10 fold.
Everyone needs someone who believes in them. This is why parents are so awesome. But we incredulously interoperate their incredible impetus. So one other person who validates their truthfulness suddenly flips all those misfiring switches. I can't fathom how it could degrade any such lift off. So to answer more clearly your second question - no.
I would feel really good after hearing it. Sort of a mental support. At least someone is there who at least shows that she cares for me. Does not matter if the care is just for show or genuine. It is just that we all can feel the warmth behind the words. It depends on the person, if it is warmth or coldness, I think.
You may be thinking that I can be fooled by the just for show care. But I can see the real person very easily, and it is now in my hands whether to continue with them or not.
yes, I just never had the type of situation, in which I end up in a relationship with someone I really don't know and I have to find out later on how they really are
or if I do not evidently see that they are indeed great people, then I just don't pursue anything further
to me it's just unthinkable to be in a relationship with someone that is less than great
another example of this is, when people see it a requirement to be with some, that their partners have to be loyal... so it makes me wonder, why people would even consider being with someone when they know their prospects are not faithful
For me it's that I don't always see the best in myself, so when a girlfriend says these things to me, it's a reminder that not only am I "enough", but I'm enough FOR HER. Us men just want our efforts to be noticed and validated, and we'll move mountains to get that kind of love and respect and support from the woman we love.
No, I would never expect everyone to be supportive of me. It's the world, most people are about themselves and would atep over their own mother for the right price.
Because you literally just said "how would it feel if the person you LOVED" told you that. I don't LOVE you, you don't LOVE me, yet I literally just told you, I hope you have a successful and long life
