An increased body temperature does make people overheating. Such temperatures above 97.5°F to 98.9°F or 36.4°C to 37.2°C would be considered elevated and probably are the result of something wrong with the body.

It could be either a bacterial or viral infection. A word of caution though. If it is a viral infection that causes you to have an elevated temperature and therefore to be hot, it is useless to take antibiotics because those will only work if the cause has been established to be from a bacterial infection.

Best would be to drink plenty of fluids such as water or unsweetened teas.
