Why do some girls use "<3" instead of ❤?

Why do some keep switching back-and-forth between those 2 heart emojis? I get that they're supposed to mean the same thing, but is there any specific reason for why a girl would rather use "<3" in a specific situation rather than ❤ (assuming that the girl uses both at different occasions)?

Oh oops, I meant like when girls type it as "less than 3" (< 3). Can't write it properly or else it will turn into an heart emoji.

I guess its a problem with different devices On my phone they are exactly the same emojy. Maybe for them its the same too and your phone makes two differen ones at random.

My suspicion proofed right when I copied them in the browser. They have different unicodes but some devices picture them the same. which one do you get from me? No meaning attached: 1.❤️
2.❤ 3.❤ is one the same as 2. or 3?

Oh, some people just don't like looking for the emoji once it leaves the quick slot so maybe that's why they use that instead

Yeah, the combination of "<" and "3" looks like a heart. This was mostly used back in the days when emojis weren't a thing yet. But some girls still use it sometimes.
