Girls, ladies, women - was giving birth a terrifying experience for you? Was it a good experience for you?

Some people here on GaG state that giving birth is a terrifying experience. To me, this statement is untrue and may very well encourage someone from keeping their pregnancy because they've been scared half to death to give birth.
Giving birth to my son was painful, but far from terrifying! It was a wonderful experience and I gave birth the natural way - without any drugs.
Please share your giving birth experience with us as it may change someone's mind.

I just gave birth today. I had a c section due to preeclampsia and I will say I was scared esp going into the surgical room but it really wasn’t as bad as I thought. If you look up c sections online they make it sound more scary during the procedure than what is was for me which heightened my fear. I am under pain medicine so I don’t have pain but not sure how I’ll feel in a few days.

Pregnancy itself has been worst than giving birth for me but I know everyone is different.

I had an epidural with each delivery and three pushes and the baby was out each time. Just a tiny bit of tearing with each delivery
