Women, do you really live your whole lives in fear?

Every woman rightfully fears being raped or murdered. But I was wondering do all women act on guard non-stop when men are around, or is that a stereotype? Also for the women who aren't afraid, why?

No, we are not on guard non stop. If a woman is, she has a serious issues. I am not afraid of men unless one gives me a reason to.

By far and large, men are happy to be in the company of women and revel in our feminine presence. Even if it's something as simple like buying a pack of gum and having a tiny flirt with it. Men are rough on each other. We are largely a breath of fresh air.

You have to tap into a bit of your masculinity as a woman when out alone at any time of day. If you are going somewhere unfamiliar or not at the safest hour, you have to walk with a "I am not the one" aura about you. And nit the whole time, only if a situation presents itself.

Random stranger attacks on the street are fairly rare thank God but they happen. I had a school friend this happened to. But, she was hammered stumbling around in an alley so that didn't help matters.

Predators want easy prey. Don't walk around like prey.

I will say in my younger days I was a bit fearful because I was hit on, hollered at (sometimes followed) and harassed non stop in the street by men. I would be in jeans and stuff. Nothing crazy. I was too insecure and didn't see my value back then and just saw it all as bad. Being a victim of rape probably didn't help. 🤔.

The truth is that every man has the capacity to kill, rape, maim and torture. The vast majority will never go there but it's in the gender. Women are made from a man's rib. We are from you so we know this subconsciously.

All in all, I like men. I like how they are different from me. They make me smile all while wanting to kick them in the teeth because they are so damn frustrating.

I am cautious but not fearful.

Except once I was meeting Hubby at a house in Colorado in the mountains.

His flight got delay due to weather by a day. I had to spend the night alone in the house in the mountains.

Every noise made me think of a rapist, axe murder, big foot, wide animal was going to break in and kill me. Was really happy to see hubby the next day.

All the women I know are cautious but project and energy of Confidence... mostly because that is part of their Cautiousness. l know women who wll not go to places that may put them at risk alone... laundry mat being one such place. Two of them will go pretty much anywhere...

0.0015% of White women in the USA will be murdered. 0.0006705% of White women in the USA will be murdered by someone other than their abusive partner. Generally when you have a 0.00 percent change of something happening to you, you don't tend to worry about it too much.

Yes I do. And that's because of past traumas. I can't speak for other women though, only for myself because every girl is different.

Overall the world is a terrible place with terrible people in it. So it's better to be on guard and hyper aware of your surroundings.

No, not at all. I mean I take precautions sometimes, but I certainly don't live in fear of being raped.

And as a woman, I fear being murdered far less than I presume men do because men are murdered almost 4 times more than women. That is the case in the US and all over the world.

Of course I don't want any of those to happen to me but when I'm around me I don't think that way. I'm always on my guard anywhere because at any moment something can happen.

Pretty much yes but I always carry some type of protection on me to stay safe tho. Where I live is a little ghetto tho like if I lived somewhere safer I wouldn't be so worried.

I am afraid but only when I'm alone or when I'm around suspicious men. Also men who are pushy are a danger and they make me nervous.
