I have had stalkers -- fairly mild stuff, luckily... I wasn't exactly afraid for my life or anything, but it was still creepy. Been sexually harassed by a few different girls a few times at work and school "as a joke," (of course, my managers/teachers laughed it off)... but no showing up to my house or calling me or anything...

I was surprised that an ex wasn't more of a stalker, but luckily, she was vengeful enough to immediately delete everything (phone numbers, etc) if she was in a mood, so anything she learned about my address, phone number, etc, she was luckily a bit too forgetful to remember how to get there (Plus I have moved, so... if she's "stalking me" I know nothing about it).

There was a girl who came late to a party a bunch of friends and I were doing a AirBnB type thing for a big tournament game, and she shows up about an hour before we all went to bed, and she got demanding and creepy real fast with me (I didn't know her). I thought she might come at me when I was sleeping and more vulnerable - she gave off that air about her. I didn't sleep.

Woo... that elevator didn't go all the way to the top, if you know what I mean.

Yeah. I’ve had a couple of stalkers. It’s scary because there’s absolutely no recourse for men. If we haven’t been attacked yet, we need to quit being dramatic. If we have been attacked, we should be a man about it and accept that we did something to deserve it. If we feel the need to defend ourselves, we become the villain and end up in jail or prison. These views are so pervasive that they’re almost universal. Family and friends won’t get involved. Police won’t help. Even if a psychologist believes us, their training is always to treat men as victimizers, not victims. We’re several generations from having discussions about male victims of abuse at the hands of women that reach far and wide enough to actually inspire meaningful change.

      Sounds similar to neighbor abuse.

My cousin was an LAPD detective, so kind of a tough guy, and he divorced his wife because he said she was both mentally and physically abusive and he refused to hit a woman back. He put-up with it for 3 years. I was proud of him both for speaking up and also for leaving. When I was teaching, one of my 7th grade girls hit one of the boys in class. I stopped the whole class and we had a discussion on the spot about why girls shouldn't hit boys any more than boys should be hitting girls. It was illuminating to hear what the students had to say about it.

I read a story about an LA assistant prosecutor who had to divorce his wife because she had mental health issues and refused treatment. When she got violent with him and the kids, he ended the marriage. He was summarily denied a PPO, for obvious reasons. Eventually she found him, crashed her car through the house, got out and shot him to death. She would have killed him in front of their kids, but his last act on Earth was to close the door to his bedroom so the kids wouldn’t have to see what she did to him.

PPOs are useless anyway. A piece of paper isn't going to stop a gun or a knife or other deadly object in the hands of someone who wants to use it.

(Girl… there ARE some scary women out there…)
I'm curious to see what the fellas say about this one, but also wanted to add that so many guys go for really nutty/scary women because of their looks… and stick with them for an eternity before registering that they need to part ways with her.

The closest thing to me being afraid of a woman was when I was about 10, and at the school bus stop waiting for the school bus, and the kids goaded a stocky 12-year-old girl (who was about a foot taller and 40 pounds heavier than me) into fighting me. Mostly, at the time, I'd never been in a fight and I was terrified of hitting a girl and being blamed for the whole thing, even though I'd done nothing to initiate it and was only defending myself. Ultimately, she wasn't much of a fighter, and I managed to hit her once pretty good, and that ended things.

Since then, I can't remember any situation where I was afraid of a woman.

Yes when I was in high school because I was too awkward and didn't understand social situations so I was anxious af of doing something wrong, embarrassing myself etc. I'm autistic and it's very difficult. In the beginning you have no clue what you're supposed to do. People tell you just be confident but it's hard when you actually don't know what to do. And also you have the feeling that everyone is watching you and everyone will think you like a girl if you go talk to her and judge you based on how you do. That's what it felt like. Now I have a girlfriend and I'm not scared of her so that's good :) And I can talk to women easily. There could still be certain scenarios that could be anxiety inducing I guess but I haven't had to deal with that.

There were some scary women at high school back in the day , and they could really bring you down emotionally ( to a degree physically ) , I was pretty scared of a number of them , I was scared to ask them out ( not of them saying No , but they'd tell everybody - ridicule ) , also you could get kicked in the balls for no reason , and you could not really react..

Around 17/ 18 all changed for the positive , I found a girlfriend who was 15 , and I started expanding my area route , which made a big difference and I found a heap of different girls , from there I've really never had any fear sine..

But at 16 years , they scared the sht out of me , especially Ms C.. Ohhh.

I'll be honest yes. I worked at a hospital before in shipping and delivery paid good but this woman didn't like me because she was a boomer and found out I was in low income paying like $800 for rent.. Anytime She saw me she made it her mission to ask me about my rent in front of her other boomer friends.. Woman was like 60 years old too younger than my mom. I don't know what to say to that i live in low income but im working towards nursing to pull me out.. Im low income but dont do crime its isane world we live in

I've been scared of women pretty much my entire life. Even when I was a little kid I was scared of girls. I've always felt like I bother them just by being near them. Logically I know that's not true, but I've never been able to shake the feeling that I'm a nuisance to women even when I don't say or do anything. It makes it really hard to approach women in any context.

Yes. When I was falsely accused and served an ex parte PPO. I was afraid to go anywhere on campus. I would dry heave into my toilet every morning afraid to go to class knowing she was somewhere on campus and had the power to have me arrested whenever she wanted… I had to avoid entire parts of campus.

There is just so damn much wrong with the world we all live in... That's the problem I have with the Me Too movement. Women need to speak up and take action when something really happens. I was being stalked and the PPO wasn't worth the paper it was written on because he got me anyway. But, in the current social environment, so many men are being falsely accused and so many more are living in fear that they might be and it is literally ruining a lot of men's lives. What really makes me upset and angry is that there doesn't even have to be any proof, just the accusation is enough for a man to immediately lose his job and any other career opportunities in the future, not to mention what it does to him mentally and emotionally for the rest of his life. And I have heard women smirk, joke about, and threaten to falsely accuse a man of something to get back at him for something that she is upset about. My older brother is one of my best friends and I swear if a woman ever did that to him, she would have to deal with me and it would not end well for her. One of my exes was accused of something and he had me called to serve as a character witness, which I happily did and the charges were dropped. But I hate to think what might have happened to him if they hadn't considered me and another of his women friends as credible withnesses because he was looking at time in prison. I am so sorry you have gone through this and the effect it has had on you. There are a lot of good women out there and I'm sorry you don't have the blessing of a relationship with one of those women. It hurts my heart for any man in your position. All I can do, as a woman, is to keep confronting other women on it whenever I come across a case like yours. I wish I could give you hope.

      Thank you, @Caroline91 🙂
This whole false accusation issue started because of feminism which led to the MeToo Movement and it doesn’t just hurt men but women as well because women who are actually being stalked or raped etc will have a harder time being believed because of the women who think it’s already to falsely accuse men and i feel for those women. Unfortunately too many out there think it’s a necessary evil.

Absolutely to what you said here. The police wouldn't arrest my stalker when they actually had him in their custody. They let him walk over to me and kiss me then told him to leave. After he left, they told me I had just invited him back because I kissed him, which I had not done. He was bigger and taller than me so they couldn't actually see. I told them that THEY had allowed him to put his hands me and kiss me while I was frozen from fear, not believing they would let him actually touch me. I got a restraining order, but 3 days later, he came back and finished the job. He was served the restraining order while I was in the hospital and he was in jail... lotta good that did me. So,, you are right it goes both ways icy hurting both men and women. But, I am just so damn angry that men are being made to feel the way you do. It is natural for men and women to want to be in a relationship together, but how can that happen in this atmosphere? GRRRRR

    Nope.

Probably the closest thing was when some woman falsely accused me of sexual harassment when I was a personal trainer which all I was doing was my job and the duties I was supposed to be doing but that just pissed me off more then anything it didn't make me afraid of women.

Yes! I was verbally assaulted once a bus because I was talking about the snow. I'm from Florida so it was the first time I saw snow in a while. This lady stood up and yelled "This is my quiet time!" Turns out she was a school principal. Lol
Then I hired a dating coach because I was traumatized and she told me I smell bad and she can't help me.. I made her give me a refund. Hahaha

I nearly shot a woman who pulled a kitchen knife on my partner and me when I was a cop. We were in a very small room on a domestic, when she pulled this knife out of her sweater sleeve and began waving it around. My partner distracted her and I tackled her. Man, if I had to cut loose with my.45 it would have been a bad scene.
