Why would a girl say she's about to be single and say it was about family when I asked her what she meant?

A girl I've been dating said in her Snapchat story she was about to single and she is living the single life. When I asked her about it she said it was about family which was odd. We haven't been speaking for a while since it's long distance. Part of me feels like it is dissolving and it also isn't working.

Don’t wait for her to breakup with you and just end it. Doesn’t matter what her excuse is when she literally posts she’s about to be single. Can’t talk her way out of that. Even if she made that post for her family, then what’s the catalyst? Is she hiding the relationship? Do they have another man in mind for her? Too much gray area.

Clearly she wouldn’t handle it too hard if she’s the one putting it on the table. Maybe her words say one thing, but actions say another. For her to say she’s going to be single like it’s some announcement, then act like this where she’s gradually ghosting, I think the writing is on the wall. My guess is there may be someone who’s caught her eye she’s testing the waters with him before leaving you for certain. You guys are long distance, so there’s no way to know with certainty what she’s doing over there. Maybe there is a man her family likes to see her with.
