If a girl mentions she is single in conversation, does it mean anything?

Alright so I get this vibe from this girl whom I work with, we have gotten to know each other more this past month, and I've developed a liking for her, I just can't get myself to ask her out for some reason.

Signs that I may think she is interested are that she casually mentioned in conversation that she was single, body language, she asked for my number incase she ever needed it, so we exchanged numbers but neither of us have texted each other. I always have lunch break with her and we joke around a lot, and when we both get off work at the same time we will walk out togther. I've had numerous co workers ask me if I liked her or why I haven't made a move.

She tells me that Im a really calm guy and when I graduate and leave this job how she hopes she doesn't get stuck with people she doesn't like.

I am just really bad when it comes to reading girls and afraid to mistake friendliness for something else
