I can actually pull this look off. It has to be for a very specific occasion though and really depends on how I will be dressed. I think the last time I did it was at an outdoor party during the day.

Because it was casual (and my dress was casual) I was able to pull it off and have it look appropriate for the setting. It isn’t something I do often because kind of a pain to do and for what really? Plus, my hair is a bit shorter than normal at the moment so it wouldn’t look right.

You would never catch me doing it when dressing up for a fancy dinner. Sure, I’ll wear my hair up but more styled and sophisticated. At least that is how I see it. I wouldn’t do it for work either. Just wouldn’t look right with my more conservative dress that I tend to wear to work.

i am a fan of kpop, which is an industry where you see a lot of sexualization of underage girls, and so it has become a topic i am very sensitive about. pigtails are commonly worn by young children, it's something youthful and cute, and so it's often used to create a more youthful look and perpetuate society's pedophilic beauty standards to women; being flat/skinny body, no hair, and perfect skin. i immediately think of lolita when i see a woman with pigtails
