From my experiences, the biggest problem related to romantic relationships between white men and women of color is not the alleged "white men fetishize women of color"-trope, but the cultural barriers among us, which some women of color could perceive as a racial fetish. White/Western culture is generally commitment-averse, while POC's cultures are generally more traditional. A woman of color can easily feel she's being played by a white man when he's just doing what is a cultural issue. Relationships are short-term and shallow in the West.
