Some people are just neighbourly - it's amazing how saying 'Good Morning' politely with a smile on your face can make others feel better.

Sometimes people can sense someone might be lonely - I don't know if you are, but a compassionate person might make a gentle initial connection just by saying Hi. It offers you the chance to say Hi back, after all.

Maybe she's new to the area and she's looking to make some connections with her neighbours? If her parents don't live nearby, she will have a greater need for an independent support system.

Of course, she might be attracted to you and giving you the chance to be attracted back? But usually you would have picked up on that by now unless you aren't good at reading unspoken female signals.

Why not just strike up a casual conversation with her and find out a bit more?
