She likes me but never gets close to me?

She displays the body language of someone that’s interested but refrains from getting too close to me. She always keeps 3+ feet of distance from me. She sometimes tries to move closer to me but that happens maybe once or twice a month. She is shy, but why does she do that?

Yes she is shy, but try asking her out and see how it goes. Shy people are usually very timid, so don't let that deter you.
