Girls, what were the feelings and emotions whilst reading a handwritten letter for the very first time?

Just curious to know from a woman's perspective when you first got surprised with a handwritten letter. What were the emotions that you were feeling whilst reading the letter? And, Instinctively, how do you react after reading the letter?

I just wrote a 4 page handwritten letter to a girl I like. I've poured my heart and soul and I don't know what is going to happen. So just curious to know as this is my first ever handwritten letter that I wrote to someone special.

I have received one a couple of times. One was when I was younger. I felt kind of like that butterfly feeling. It was cute, and I was completely flattered. The other time it was from my now fiancé.

After he proposed, he gave me a letter that he had prepared beforehand. It was about a page and a half long and just talked about all the reasons he loved me, how our life would be together and thanking me for being apart of his life.

There was a lot more to it than just that, but you get the idea. I remember absolutely losing control and crying (happy tears) all the way through reading it. I of course kept that and still have it to this day.

I can't even describe in words the way I felt. It was just the most amazing thing he did and it really touched me like never before. I will never ever let that letter go. It was quite possibly the sweetest thing he has done for me and was so heartfelt.

ohh.. Wow. That's a very helpful description. I may have underestimate the effect that a handwritten letter brings. I just pray that I get the same reaction. :)
