Anonymous(30-35)+1 yThe hardest thing for men I feel like is holding their emotions in. They are used to it since they've been forced and raised to do it from a very young age. I know bottling up your emotions leads to depression and all kinds of mental disorders. I feel really bad for them and I don't agree with it. When I have kids in the future, I am going to raise my son to feel his emotions and not to shut them away. That's really messed up you guys have every right to feel your emotions and show them if you want to. I can't even imagine how hard that is.
On a side note related to emotions. I like writing. Whenever I create a male character in my story, I try to make the male character as realistic as possible. Sometimes I get hung up on the male character showing sadness and crying. I am so used to being free as a female with emotions that I don't really know how a guy would act in certain situations.
Anyway, for women. This is just me personally, I struggle with this. I don't want to be in a relationship/marriage with a man who has these strict views on how I am supposed act in the relationship and what I am supposed to do. I don know if any other women fear this. Especially if the guy is sexist.
I wasn't really raised in a healthy environment. My dad is a misogynist and I remember him saying to me that I'll end up with an abusive husband and that I'd deserve it since I don't want to cook or do womanly things. That really scared me.
I don't want to be in a relationship where I am acting perfect and treating my boyfriend/husband like a king and I'm waiting hand and foot on him while he expects it, takes it for granted, doesn't respect me, treats me poorly, abuses me. I'm afraid.
If I am in a relationship of course I'll show him I love him and do nice things and stuff. But I don't want to be this slave like I'm less just because I'm a woman and I'm obviously below the man. I want to be equal to my husband and be treated with respect.
I don't know my dad raised me like that and I'm scared that a good majority of men are like that/expect that/demand it. I'd rather be single for the rest of my life than to be in a relationship like that.

The hardest thing I think for a woman is how most of them are driven to abuse hard drugs and that makes the hardest thing a man has to deal with is ridiculous behaviors from them and listening to them say things like "The hardest thing for men I feel like is holding their emotions in." Wtf. Don't do drugs kids.
- +1 y
@bamesjond0069 they’re not driven to drugs They choose to do drugs they have a bad day bad few days bad week or few months or even a bad year and then one day they wake up and Decide doing drugs is the answer doing drugs is a choice Nobody Is forced to do anything if you don’t want to eat food or drink water anymore you don’t have to Of course you’ll die but That’s your choice
Just like if I don’t wanna Watch tv I won’t nobody forces me to watch tv I do it because That’s what is There many many times I decided to Quit watching tv and many times I have successfully Stopped watching tv Because I didn’t wanna watch tv Anymore and knowing that’s what I wanted to do Made it possible to not watch tv.

+1 yFor working class men, the hardest thing is working themselves half to death for 50-60 years straight with no support system if they ever stumble or make even one bad decision.
For middle class men, the hardest thing is feeling trapped in the unsatisfying monotony of white-collar existence, wandering why life isn't "better" when they're already somewhat successful.
For upper class men, the hardest thing is constant paranoia of swimming with sharks who will gladly devour them at the first opportunity, and thus never fully knowing who's to be trusted. I know of multi millionaires who are incredibly secretive about their wealth because of how it attracts parasites from miles around.
Women of different 'classes' may experience similar struggles if they're part of the full time work force, but all of that for women is (in my opinion) secondary to the more universal constraints of their own biology. Periods, childbirth, menopause, perimenopause, post-menopause, and the constant emotional ups and downs that come with a fundamentally more emotional brain wiring (on average) are all constant influences in women's day to day lives, even affecting bigger picture life issues (like "do I abandon career to be there for my kids full-time?").
I think the aforementioned class struggles are felt more intrinsically by men, since thousands of years of social conditioning and biological priming has given us the de facto expectation of being the" alpha provider", the man who can go into a dragon's lair, kill the lion bare-handed, and then return to share the dragon's gold with the whole village. Women can experience those struggles too, of course, but they're less tied in with a woman's 'core identity'. When a woman fails at work, she says "well, that failed". When a man fails at work, he says "well, I failed", and he gets no sympathy or support to indicate otherwise.
But the flipside is that men's biology is more "even-heeled", we have less extreme ups and downs inside our own body and psyche, it's why men can stay friends with other men even after years of not talking, we just pick things up where they left off. Women "grow up" a lot faster biologically and emotionally, so a woman seeing an old high school friend might consider one another as totally unrecognisable. So in summation women feel more ups and downs in their internal experience (biology, hormones, pregnancy, fertility changes, etc) , and men feel more ups and downs in their external experience (their reputation amongst other men, especially colleagues and bosses; the impact that failure can have on a man's self-concept; the constant worry that they're "not good enough" to be worthy of a woman's love and lust, which itself may be tied to external factors that either reinforce or undermine a "successful" self-image)

Interesting thoughts and views. I agree with most stated and liked how you even tossed women in there to show the differences between.

Very insightful. I especially enjoyed the part about wealthy men because I can relate to it. I take great measures to never let the women I date know about my wealth for as long as possible. It's very hard to trust. I often feel lonely when I see so many people envying my wealth because they don't understand that it isn't a panacea. With money comes a lot of responsibility, stress and isolation. There are challenges on both ends of the wealth spectrum and in the middle too. Some of them are universal and others are different. But no life is free of worry or stress.
+1 yFor me as a guy I hate it
I hate trying to live upto the standers that
I must be tough
Play sports
Never showed any emotions expecially never cry
I would rather wear a dress then a suit and tie to Fancy outcome but I am worried about what people would say
I need to keep my hair short people say
Always worried about saying stuff online because I will get called a mysogist pig for simple jokes
Begin the one to take action
Either be the one that looks for the girl to date since your told unless you're hunting for your girlfriend you'll be single for ever as girls don't look for boyfriend it your job to look for them
I'm always nervous to ask I walk down the mall and I am 26-27 year old man and I can't easily tell if a woman is 17-30 some times and it would be weird for society to date a -17 below girl as almost 27 year old
For women
I know life isn't greener for you but I still wish I was one
You get periods
Fear of pregnancy
Never seen as tough
Looked down upon men all the time
Sexualized at all times
Unexpected beauty standers (I believe all women are beautiful at all time no matter how you look)
Society standards for women are just as bad as men
Example (work at home mom, clean, cook, take care of the kids)02 Reply- +1 y

For a man: the complete lack of support in any and every area of life.
For a woman: realizing that you can work your ass off to create a name and life for yourself in the world, but no one will give a shit unless you're tied to a successful man.20 Reply

My boyfriend on the other hand looks visibly scary and people are frightened when they see him. He’s pretty much a lot safer than me, seeing that most rape victims are women. Most sex trafficking victims are women. Most sexual assault victims are going to also be women.
I’m scared to go out in public because of crime. This is the fault of the Democrats repealing laws like three strikes and other anti-crime laws. They SAY they care about women’s rights, but on the same token, they’re letting rapists out of prison. Hmm… I think the modern women’s rights movement has ulterior motives.10 ReplyFor me the worst thing about being a guy quickly we're turned on by a woman that is dressed sexy. It's hard thing to not look at woman in hotpants or mini skirts no matter what.
Another hard thing is that being a guy can often mean you're part of the anti- social sex because guys often don't help each other or they aren't even interested in doing so. Some guys stay quiet even if they could help because they prefer to keep their knowledge for themselves.
I would say the biggest problems women face is constant judgement and the need to defend themselves for what ever they do, wear and how they live way more than guys need.

My husband, back in our twenties, would say the same as you said first. Women, especially attractive ones dressed like so, would drive him bonkers. As you age, it becomes more manageable and somehow different meaning less primal and lustful.
Wish more men where able to be helpful. I never thought of it like that.

Thanks for the appreciation. Yes it´s one of the struggles of being guy because it´s a turn on even if I don´t want it to be. I´m not saying that so women feel like they have to cover up every inch of their body but it´s something that bothers my mind currently since I don´t know a solution.

I think it's just a time thing. Hopefully you have some form of an outlet (woman?) to share some time with? Or? I know my husband, boyfriend at the time, would say I helped; but at that age it's almost insatiable regardless. I share to say that it does ease... and! I definitely appreciate his sex drive, even now! I am never with a want or need sexually.
+1 yHardest part being a man
1. U are loved only when u provide
2. Women can cheat and sue and still end up taking ur property via divorce.
3 . U need to be tall enough at times
4 . U dont have many female freinds always talking to u
5 . Even if u talk a lady in a freindly manner they might doubt u
6 . Lack of options unless ur super wealthy and super handsome
Hardest part about being women
1 . Getting pregnant
2. Chosing right partner that doesn't love u for ur body
3. Finding genuine guys that won't cheat and leave u will still take care of children
4. in some areas finding people that support ur dream
5 . Periods ( guys would cry to go to gym if they had periods every month )
6. Being juged. ( women are always scared of being juged in that fear they sometimes even lie )10 Reply
+1 yWorst thing about Being a man (even though its not that bad), men are not able to wear anything without being judged.
Men wear anything that don't fit in the social normal, are judged
But women can wear anything (even mens clothing) and its cool, sexy and trendy.
My idea for a woman would be. That they have to put up with sick and twisted bastards when online or in person. Ask any female on gag. They will tell you that their inbox is full of sickos.
Like today I read a ladies post about this one sick fucker said he would track her down and fuck her
00 ReplyHaving no kind of support or resources at all except being told to man up. Being told by a therapist the reason men are more likely to be put on waiting lists for therapy is because compared to females men aren't seen as much of a threat to themselves which is stupid because men have a higher rate of suicide than females.
There is just no kind of help out there for us men, we start our own support and females come along and protest against and force us out of our safe places.
Being born and told your a monster, you're evil, you will rape females and kids because of your gender.

+1 yWorst thing about being a man is having to deal with women acting insane 99% of the time. I seriously just don't deal with them when they have a tantrum just tell them stfu or go away depending on the circumstances.
Worst thing about being a woman is probably being born overly emotional and unable to have control of themselves and how they are utterly incompetent yet feel the need to shout from the mountain tops how strong and independent they are and then cry and scream they need a man to get them down off of the mountaintop. Lmao.

+1 yHardest thing about being a guy is probably that you have to earn respect or people will not care about you and hardest part about being a woman is that after you have kids, your invisible to good men so you have to be extremely selective about who you choose. I know women who date terrible people because they are older and assume decent guys are all gone, one such woman who is a mother of a friend is scared her husband will kill her for money.

+1 yI think the hardest thing for men is that they are expected to put others above themselves. Men are expected to be selfless, and brave and willing to suffer hardship and horror. To say no to that is to be a coward or less than a man. And they aren’t allowed to express their emotions and fears. These poor, brave boys who are selfless and bold. Each one a hero suffering in stoic silence. It makes me want to cry.

some girls make me feel like i'm a rapist trying to rape them when i'm showing interest in them.
i have to serve in the army.
if i earn little money, they consider me "less male".
it's a problem even when i grow out my hair. my father bullies me a lot and forces me to cut my hair.
