WHY WOULD A GIRL DO THIS?

There is this girl who I know, and she tends to stare at me a lot (we usually see each other after second period) and if we do not see each other we have English fourth period she tends to stare at me as soon as I come in the class (every time) but if we see each other she does not tend to stare at me, and her friends know about me (I have never met them lol). And she tended last week to talk to me more, and at one football game, I heard her friends said, "talk to her "and she refused,

what does this mean? Anyone can help and I will respond to your questions. :)

And also she asked me if I was going to the dance and did not ask anyone else at my table (there are two guys and me n her)
