I flirted with this girl but she seemed aloof, so I backed off and never asked her out. She then became hot and cold, like she would be jumping when saying hello to me for one time, and pretends not seeing me for another time.

I saw her today and I pretended didn’t see her so we don’t need to have an awkward conversation. She stopped me by standing in my way, took a deep breath like she was sighing, asked me “how’s your day”. Then she walked away before I could answer her.

What was that about?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and give her the benefit of doubt for a few moments.

She may be interested but lacking in effective social skills that she may be semi-consciously aware of but doesn't know how to improve.

Consider also your own behavior around her. She may be concocting a potentially distorted view of how you seem to behave around her.

I'm just throwing out possibilities here. I'm not trying to analyze either her or yourself on such scant information.

I was a socially inept sort of guy when I was young. I never knew how the heck to behave around my desired crush.

It’s nice you are assuming the best out of people. But she does not lack any social skills. She even got several “friends” simping her. One reason I started ignoring her is because she flirted with a guy friend in front of me and turned to me to observe my reaction. And my reaction was to move on and forget her. She does not even like that guy, people told me she treats that guy poorly and constantly ignoring him. I feel bad for both of them.

Maybe you should pull her aside for a moment to talk to her. Something like “hey, is everything alright? It just seems like we have this awkward thing going on where you avoid me sometimes. I hope I didn’t do anything wrong but if so, can we clear the air?” However you want to word it but yeah, be direct with this one.

That’s a great advice to save a friendship. But she is not my friend. I fear it will make things even more awkward. Besides, she was quite disrespectful to me for a few times, I’m not motivated in making any effort. Thanks anyway, that is what I would do if things are awkward with a friend

Honestly I wouldn’t say this is geared towards a friend, it’s just general problem solving. By addressing the issue she will at least realize that you notice her weird behavior and likely stop. But you have to act within your comfort levels, so I understand if you’d rather not be direct. If a conversation isn’t on the table then unfortunately you may not ever know what her issue is. All we can do is speculate, her actions could derive from any number of things. Only she can give you the real facts.
