Do you get huge compliments on your looks but you still wonder if you're beautiful?

I so relate to carrie (main character)! like she feels pretty but not beautiful, she feels impulsive and desirable but it's only fleeting and oml... e. lockhart needs to stop writing beautiful boys and relatable girls, like seriously...

I've caught a few guys staring at me a couple of times, but I feel like I'm a plain Jane as compared to *most* women. On average, I'd say I'm pretty. I have good features and also make an effort to look good. I don't get "huge" compliments, lol. I only ever get cute, adorable and pretty.

It’s usually school that ingrains those negative thoughts into a person, isn’t it? It’s up to them to notice the difference between opinions in their past and opinions of self. Break that cycle. Allow positive comments to feel good.

I think I feel somewhat similar to you. I think I'm well-kept and groomed, but when people throw a compliment at me I think they must be going through an hallucination of sorts. I'm ugly as sin lol.

Beauty comes from the inside and is NOT a physical trait. Hence, the reason that many pretty/handsome people are NOT beautiful!

I had compliments on my eyes being beautiful and that I am handsome from family members. I just see myself as handsome just average looking.
