AITA for not “getting rid of” my Balenciaga bag?

Im not sure if you guys heard about the scandal going on with the fashion designer brand. But this morning my friend that I have known for 10 years, since i was 15, texted me about it and at first i had no idea what she was talking about. Then she demanded to me i get rid of my bag and wallet… and she threatened to end our friendship If I don’t. Pretty insane.. Im not going to. I spent my hard earned money on it as a gift to myself last year for my bday. Im not getting rid of something I like. I told my other friends and coworkers what happened and they all agreed this is absurd. I honestly don’t care for the scandal. It does not affect me or my life. Last thing I said is I will look into this before making a “decision”. She has not blocked me so far but if she does then that’s not a friend right?

Imagine telling someone, “I stopped being friends with her bc she wouldn’t throw away her Balenciaga.” What they did was wrong yes but you’ve already bought the product, what is destroying it gonna do? Almost every high fashion brand has had a scandal and I guarantee she would have nothing against buying a Gucci bag if she had the money 🤷🏽‍♀️
