I used to make out with this girl at work a few times over the summer, but then we had a really big falling out. didn't speak to each other at all for 4 months. Recently she started speaking to me again, touching my shoulder, etc. We hashed out what happened and squashed it. She then made statements like "rumors are we had sex. Maybe we should do it and get it over with." I agreed but she instantly said she "wasn't ready" & "too shy." She went on to show other signs of flirting like playing with her hair, body language, laughing at my jokes, etc. But then she kept backtracking saying things like "you ruined it," "everyone knows about us," etc.

Just looking for female insight.

She simply checked you out by making this false statement about the "rumors are you had sex". She wanted to see how you reacted to that statement.

Your reaction probably told her that you saw her most probably only as a good chance to fornicate and that is why she stated that "you ruined it". You ruined this hope of hers to have you just as a friend but given the opportunity, you would have preferred more than a friendship.

I believe that your best action is to let time heal things and that you should not attempt anymore to copulate with her. Those kind of sexual envies kill the best friendships. I think it is best to distance yourself from her and just keep it platonic.

Yeah, sorry. It wouldn't let me write out the entire story with details so I had to omit stuff. The very short version is her "friend" at work started issues for me and through a bunch of he said - she said stuff she ended up getting involved, so I had to tell my supervisor everything which caused us not to speak for 4 months... hence the "i ruined it thing" bc it was supposed to be a secret.. but she was sorta laughing when she said that. She's brought up us making out, the nudes we exchanged, and more almost out of the clear blue. I'm trying to think of what else we talked about... i feel like im just over analyzing.

Yeah I had to omit a bunch of stuff b/c of character limit. There's def history with us like she dead used to say she was territorial of me, used to hug me all the time, call me at work or text me at home. But she keeps saying she's "shy" & "chicken" when it comes to "things like this" - meaning sex without a relationship.
