Female best friend is getting touchy all of a sudden in public settings. Why?

Note this im seriously oblivious when it comes to flriting I don't know which is and what's not. So I work with said best friend in a restaurant not too long ago, and she's been getting gradually touchy. For one she rubbed my upper back and shoulders, pretty firm rub too. I asked her why she do that? She responded "I don't know". She's even grabbed my arm because she saw tiny cuts that are of no concern in front of a lot of co workers in the back of restaurant. It's weird I've never had her been so hands on with me throughout the years I've been friends with her.

A girl bestfriend is usually the best match for realtionship. But she has a boyfriend. So sure confused. Or just very touchy? I've had my friends wife rub my back softly , while back. So that was friendly. I guess you need to communicate that. You don't want it to go the wrong direction.

Problems is she gots a boyfriend, but it's in a situationship so that might be why.

You mentioned in another comment that she's seeing someone, so while this touching might be flirting. Might not wanna get involved with someone like that, it always ends up messy.
