What are the material wants, expectations and needs of women from their husbands?

Those guys who have lttle or no success with romance will say that women are greedy, selfish, materialistic and expect everything from a guy. That allows them to villify women and claim that it is the fault of women that they have not had a good relationship. Self-examination and self-improvement are not their fortes!

What I think women want is a man who s assertive and confident, who will protect them if they are ever confronted wth a physical threat, and a man who can support a family while they remain home raising the children. Of course, not every woman wants to stay at home. But even those women who are independent want a man who will make them feel proud to be his wife. And sexually, women who want a long term relationship want a man who is responsive to their needs, and that is more important to them than a guy's size.

Those are my perceptions based on 52 years of dating and relationships.

That answer is literally different for every woman. But, the basics: unconditional love, shelter, food, warmth, touch.

@Jamie05rhs ... I agree with you. I think what I meant and did not articulate well enough is that the partners in a marriage provide for each other. In this case I referred to the asker's question husband to wife. But, to your point, right: not some written thing where husbands provide shelter as some sort of exclusive thou shalt.

Make money for family: a roof over our heads, at least one car, food, clothes, kids education etc.

If they earnt enough to easily afford above, then I would also like to sign kids up to an extracurricular activity like a sport or something.

I don't require my husband to buy me anything. A birthday gift is a nice though but price doesn't matter.

I feel like these days it takes a lot for anybody to get married. And some people like myself still think it is a very important thing I think the main thing is honesty. Trust that’s big, a partnership resourceful. Understanding has a good conscience. Family oriented/builder. And this is just a few.

It's not too complicated... I want him to be self reliant, self sufficient, afford to split the bills, and open the jars and carry the groceries home.
