What is the thought process and reason why women would check out a guy?

When I'm out and about, I'd notice a woman would look at me. I don't understand it. Then again, from what I understand is they could be zoned out. If I'm with my female friend who is my ex-wife, this is when I notice women would look at me. Maybe when I'm at the gym, I think I noticed a woman had look at me.

I can only speak for myself but when I look at a person, regardless of gender, it is to assess whether

1. I know that person

2. Whether this person represents a danger to me.

In the first case, all it takes is a 1 second look. In the second case, I may look at the person's face for perhaps 2 seconds and if I am satisfied with the result and confident that this person does not represent a danger, my look moves to the next target.

Should I have the feeling that there is a potential danger with a person, then I simply try to move away or get ready to react.

Those would be the only reasons why I "check someone out".

Those women probably do exactly the same as they do not know you.

I find your opinion interesting. Seems like you had bad encounters. There are some times when my guard is up, either on defensive or emitting energy to make sure people stay away. And there's time where I'm deep in thought about a problem that I'm trying to solve. Which may innocently make me look hostile. Thanks for the feedback.

well everyone looks at people noticing them, it doesn't have to mean anything, just being curious about people, sometimes it can be interest and attraction, sometimes just looking like any clothes in the store, sometimes as you mentioned just zooning out

There's no thought process, it's just something women do. Same as when you check out girls.
