Why is it considered childish to wear shorts/leggings under a skirt or dress?

One of my friends & a girl I like, got upset that I wear shorts under my dress but with my thighs & other things, my dresses and skirts tend to ride up and it physically just feels more comfortable.

I'm really glad people are talking about this topic because girls need to know more about their safety. Let's make one thing clear- it's nowhere near "childish" to wear shorts/leggings under skirts. It's all about safety and dignity
Some people do not realize it but this is a really safe habit to practice.
Not only me but my mom and even my grandma do this
This is one of the etiquettes that we follow in my household. (Cause no one wants to go through that "oops!" Moment)
And, if the girl doesn't do this, we'll it's not safe for her cause let's be honest, it's a cruel world amd you never know what happens next so better be safe than sorry!

I’m not a child though, I’m grown. And why is it a “topic”? Because you wouldn’t know what anyone is wearing underneath unless they told you😂. And it just feels more physically comfortable for me and my thighs/butt causes skirts/dresses to ride up so I like it and it’s just my friends got upset and it caused a heated debate that’s why I asked.
