Girls, whenever I tell my bestie about my crush she responds negatively?

Whenever something happens between my crush and I, even if it’s a small encounter I always feel jittery and happy ( anyone would be like that). When I tell my bestie about what had happen, she never matches my energy. For e. g

me: “ ( crushes name) and I were talking, he smiled at me and laugh whenever I did. He also checked my body out”

My bestie: “ Mhm, he does that with everyone”

Like she makes me feel not good about having a crush on him, because whenever I tell her the signs he gives me she always puts it off. It’s like she’s making me feel I’m delusional that he likes me back too.

Even if he doesn’t, don’t make me feel bad for liking someone.

At the start before I have told her that I have a crush on him, I made it very obvious that I was attracted to him towards her. And then she asked me if I found him attractive, and I told her that I did. Her reaction made me feel uneasy, she was so shocked and became silent. Kept telling me how shocked she was that I had a liking in him, and when I asked her why is it such a shocker? She shook her head, couldn’t believe and shrugged her shoulders.

And whenever I open a topic about him, she seems so out of it. Mind you, I don’t talk about him all the time and she acts as if I do. And when I do, she seems so disinterested like she doesn’t want to hear about it.

so, yeah. Whenever I would tell her things about my crush and I, she would reject the situation and act as if she was there when she wasn’t.

what do you think this means? Does she have a thing for him too or just being a friend?

This is PTSD for me, I had a "friend" exactly like this. This person isn't your friend. They are in competition with you. A friend should be happy and rooting for you. She's threatened by you and insecure. Jealous and envious and she's taking it out on you. I would refrain from telling her these things since she's not a nice friend who would give the desired response. She's looking to knock you down whenever she can. That's a bully, not a friend at all. Take it from me who stayed 16 years friends with someone like this. It never goes away and she is always putting your down for anything you do. I remember I went to New York and I was telling her about all the great food I've tried so far. She kept talking shit and didn't at all try to be happy for me. I took the first vacation I haven't had in many years. A girl like this will never be your friend because they are getting in their own way from being a good person to you. She's not worth your time and stress doesn't deserve you.

It sounds like your best friend might be a jealous person. She could be trying to downplay the connections between you and your crush because she also likes him and doesn't want to see you end up with him.

If you value your friendship with her, it might be best to leave the subject of your crush out of future conversations. It's possible that she will eventually stop being so negative about it.

And if she can't accept your feelings towards your crush, maybe she's not the best friend for you.

Sounds like your crush is undesirable - the comment about him checking everyone out - and she can't believe you're crushing on him.

Pay attention to what your friend is saying instead of being petty and jealous. More than likely your crush doesn't have a good reputation and yet as you're likely insecure so think his attention is good

This has happened with a friend of mine with a guy who I fancie right now as it goes. They did have history but I used to like him a while ago. When I told my mate about how I felt and that we had been flirting, she kept saying things about him and warning me away from him. I've took her comments on board but I've chosen not to tell her anything that happens between us.

My friend was like this when I told her who my crush was.

The first time I told her about a crush she talked bad about him. The second time I told her about a crush she talked bad about him too.

I think she was jealous of me because I'm pretty. The guy I had a crush on would smile with me and he made a disgusted angry face when she asked him out.

Your friend is right though. This guy has not made you his girlfriend exclusively which means he doesn't like you. He's cool enough with you to use you but he doesn't find you appealing enough to be with
