HOW IMPORTANT IS IT THAT YOU AND YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER BE ON EACH OTHER'S "FRIENDS" LISTS? ON FACEBOOK? I SAY FB ISN'T ON MY LIST OF PRIORITIES?

My girlfriend and I have a somewhat "tumultuous" relationship. She and I fight rather frequently and also rather frequently will do things like block each other on Facebook and or messenger (unfortunate and immature I know LOL) but that's a whole other story for a whole other forum. And my girl says that she is really bothered by the fact that I openly said that I don't really read her Facebook wall or speak to her much on messenger (we live together LOL), but she claims that I am always talking to people on Facebook and messenger and always commenting on friends of hers posts and walls. (I'm not on Facebook nearly as much as she claims I am)... My argument is that since she and I live together and if I want to know anything about her or her day I will just ask her LOL. But she claims that this is unacceptable any couple should absolutely be "friends on Facebook".. my argument is that Facebook is not nearly that important to me it's not that I am uninterested in her or her day, it's just that I will go directly to the source rather than read about it on her wall... Am I wrong for this? This is become a huge debate (ok ok, a huge FIGHT) LOL... I STICK TO MY GUNS AND SAY THAT FACEBOOK DOES NOT PLAY THAT IMPORTANT OF A ROLE ROLE IN MY LIFE. BUT SHE INSISTS THAT I DELIBERATELY SAID THAT I'M NOT INTERESTED IN READING HER POSTS DUE TO SOME SORT OF DISINTEREST OR NEGLECT ON MY PART.. AM I WRONG FOR THIS? I LOVE MY GIRL I'M ALWAYS UP FOR HEARING ABOUT HER DAY.. JUST NOT BY READING ABOUT IT, ESPECIALLY* ON FACEBOOK...

I couldn't care less about that. That's stupid shit to get upset with. Social media means squat to me personally. Of the few accounts I have with different social media apps I only follow family and friends. I spend such little time on them because most friends don't post anything. We are all at that age that we either just started a career or still in school. If my SO didn't follow me I wouldn't care. I wouldn't expect them to care if I did either. We would pretty much know everything that is going on with each other anyhow right?

Your relationship sounds immature. I mean I never thought of it being important but if you both have fb it’s just weird to not be friends. My boyfriend and I live together but we still communicate constantly via messenger.

I rarely go on Facebook, never update anything. If I did have a girlfriend, I would only add the relationship but that's really it.
