Should I even bother placing the ''in a relationship'' status on fb?

Honestly I don't go to fb every single day and don't feel like sharing my personal life with everyone.

My boyfriend is wondering why I take any pictures of us nor even update my fb to ''in a relationship''. I don't find any need for it. I don't feel like it. Shakira broke up after 10-11 years old. People don't last forever nowadays. It's just a verbal agreement that can easily be broken any time. He's my 3rd boyfriend and we've only dated for 6 months.

I hate the idea of telling everyone I'm in a relationship and posting pictures of us, only to later on break up; another temporarily person. I'm happy with the way things our, without any publicity.

Nowadays it's like people just want to have one foot out the door, just temporarily people in their lives, not an actually life partner that you are sure they will commit for life, that will work out issues a couple have without giving up easily, etc.

I've posted my status and pictures of my past bfs before. I'm tired of the same thing. I'm tired of investing too much, only for it to end in a break-up.

Changing status online today is, like you imply, a damn waste of time. People are heartless, without boundaries and generally inconsiderate. It is HARD for me to remember that there are always three bored idiots everyday hitting my apps.

No relationship will work if you have the mind set that a guy is temporarily and you will eventually break up. It's your choice what you want to post but what happens if you find someone to grow old with, you will deeply regret not taking photos.

Nowadays, commitment is so rare. People break-up easy. It makes me think that relationships have become a joke.

Yes a lot of people do break up but there is also a lot of people who do stay together until they grow old. Stop paying attention to celebrity marriages and take notice of marriages out in the real world and you will notice often a big difference. Celebrities have statuses to keep up so of course many of their marriages are not going to work especially when they are constantly in the spotlight and so very little privacy.
