What do women in the west mean when they say they want to be "provided for and protected" ?

I never understood why women in the west today say this. What danger in the modern world do women need protecting from, and women earn virtually the same as men so why do they need to be provided for. Why would they even want either of these things after feminism worked so hard on "equality"?

The only women I hear saying this are princess minded gold diggers who don’t want to work hard and want a man to pay for everything or women who plan to lean heavy into being a stay at home wife and mom.
But those categories combined it seems are in the minority. Most women just want a man who can match her effort financially and in the home.

So you don't think women should earn the same as men, have the same rights, and can be (in general) just as competent given the same opportunities? That's what feminism used to mean at some point.

I personally want a traditional life. I would love to have kids and be home with them. But women already make the same amount of money/hour as men we just choose jobs with less pay and we work less hours on average compared to men. Women have the same opportunities as men in the western world already (if not more). So their life, their choice

1. Protection: from predators. Any lady who lives in a big city in the USA probably understands this.

2. Provided for: She could be a TradCon or perhaps she just not want to have to work late into pregnancy and later with a newborn and then a toddler to take care of.

They want traditional men, while at the same time being allowed to do what ever they want, sleep with who ever they want and not be traditional them selves.. Which will simply never happen.
