Yes I do. My boyfriend is a testament to that. We've been friends for 10 years before getting together. We were off and on friends and could have stopped talking altogether but we never did. He wanted to be with me since college and I didn't at the time but now we're together and I just think besides the long distance thing, it was perfect timing for both of us.
