This girl, she is in my class and also in my group. Today, I tried to sit next to her in, but she told me her friend will sit there, she was apologetic about it.

She probably has no idea you're even interested romantically. All she knows is you wanted to sit next to her.

She just was saving a spot for her friend. Or, possibly, doesn't want anyone sitting next to her.

But let's be clear: you never asked or were in a position to be rejected. All you did was assume the seat next to her was not taken.

If she truly was saving that seat for her friend, then she was truly saving that seat for her friend.
