Why do women ruin their looks with plastic surgery very often?

probably social pressure to keep looking "young" or still trying to get roles that they are losing out on because someone younger came along.
Sadly hollywood seems to be all about looks, image etc.
You see so many that you now don't have a clue who that is.
It's sad because once you do it there is no going back.
We all get older and our looks change, but either because they have so much money, their egos they think they are able to stay looking young forever, but they aren't fooling anyone.
And no one around them will tell them that having that surgery is a bad idea, or what the hell did you do to yourself?
It's very sad.

You say very often and then pull up a Hollywood celebrity. How about you ask why Hollywood celebrities do that and not women. I don’t know any woman personally that has went under the knife and generally most women don’t.

Also, this woman looks like she got a lot of Botox which is not plastic surgery. Could be her own insecurities pushing her to get this work done, who knows. Everyone in Hollywood touches their face so this is nothing new, including the men. She doesn’t live to appease you nor does she know you exist so not sure why you care.

They are trying to stay youthful and to stay on top so they don't get passed over for more good-looking actresses. That's just the way it is in Hollywood. Ask Kim Kardashian.

I think celebrities live in a weird social bubble. They interact with one another and each of them in their orbit also use all the facial surgeries and it becomes normalized to them. I think they lose touch with reality and are subject to some pressure to conform to the industry standard. Sad, really, because some of them look horrible after they do all that work too.




Far less so in the real world but it’s still quite common.


In my wife’s work circle I know of a solid 1/3rd who have all had minor cosmetic surgery and truthfully it looks okay if they don’t go to extremes or mess with their face.


Women aren’t the only ones either as I’ve seen & met several male celebrities with atrocious facial surgery. It looks so plastic in real life - but not as bad on film for some reason.

Women are pressured by society to look good, and are then sold a bill of goods that they will look even better than they already do by plastic surgeons, many if whom are in it only go make a lot of money.
