Or would you simply just reply with a "Good night🙂" or ignore it?

Yes exactly, that's exactly how I see it.
Unless you are joking with you BFFs or texting your famoly, sending a heart emoji or similar means romantic feelings... basically the same as sending "I love/like you".

I know that there are people that use emojis without thinking... but most people seem to actually mean something with their emojis.

All my male friends agreed that sending such emojis without meaning it is lying when we discussed this topic... the same with what I found online from guys... so I asked a few female friends and they also agreed. So I took it to the internet to find out how girls in general look at it... because even though all girls I asked agreed... all my guy friends have experienced this lying.
