Why don’t I want to dress up anymore?

I’m in my mid thirties and I find that in general, I’m less interested in dressing up than I was when I was younger. I don’t want to go out and show my cleavage anymore, or my bare arms in tight dresses.

Girl, I totally hear ya. As we get older, priorities tend to shift away from appearance stuff. A few possibilities on why you may not care as much now:

- Confidence. In your 20s you may have felt like you had something to prove. Now you're comfy in your own skin without all the frills.

- Tired of stares/comments. You've probably dealt with enough ogling and dumb dude remarks over the years. Ain't nobody got time for that now!

- Career/family focus. Work demands and family responsibilities take more mental space. Less energy left for dressing to impress.

- Style changing. Trendy looks from your youth now seem try-hard. Your vibe has matured to classier outfits.

- Less desire to attract. In your prime dating years, getting looks probably mattered. Now you feel happily independent.

As long as you still feel like yourself and your best self, who cares? Rock what makes YOU feel good, confident badass lady! Leave the bare arms to the youngins. You do you, girl!

Could be a lot of things. Could just be maturing more. Things you felt that were important back than don’t matter anymore. It could also be that it’s tiresome having to get all dressed up, makeup, etc. It could be that you feel as though you don’t look as good as you used to when you were younger, so now you don’t like what you see. Maybe you’re a someone now so you feel as though you don’t need to dress like that anymore to attract someone. It could be that you feel as though it’s expensive trying to look like that all the time. It could be a lot of things.

Are you out of shape? That may play a factor. Many times people that feel out of shape dress down because it fits the whole vibe

Not really. I lost heaps of weight recently and found I don’t care as much as I did when I was heavier, about dressing up.
