Girls, What happens at your annual checkup?

Depends on the age. When I first went to the ob/gyn it's just basically for consultation. You talk to the doctor about a number of things and she just made sure nothing was out of the ordinary based on my answers. There was nothing else other than that. Once I was 21 I started the more normal checkups where they actually physically check to make sure things are good. It's not the most pleasant of checkups but it's once a year so as long as things look good and lab results are normal then that's it for the year. I've never had any isssus. There have been times I've gone more than once a year but not for the typical yearly. It was to change birth control when I first started on it. I had to change because the first type didn't agree with me in a number of ways. So it was basically a consultation.

That doesn't really tell me anything more than it's unpleasant and Dr's are always unpleasant it seems... even dogs know that... nobody ever says "yay I get to get a flu shot" lol

Where I'm in school whatever is ever said about anything like that is real hushed, like even our sex Ed was "dont"...

I guess a question that would partly help my curiosity... do they really strap you down when they put the thing in you?

Okay so she does a breast exam. Feels around each one to make sure nothing abnormal. She checks my vulva and labia. Mostly for any weird growths or abnormalities. Doesn't take long. Kinda moves stuff around and visually inspects more or less. Then she puts a special medical device in my vagina that spreads the walls and checks my cervix. Then takes a sample (swab of sorts) which gets analyzed. That's a check for cancer. That's the gist of it.

So that's it, wham bam done, don't sound so bad... so the rumor about the straps is just BS

Yeah that is BS. They don't strap me down. She just encourages me to take deep breaths to help relax. The vagina is a muscle that can tense. Why some girls say their first time having sex is uncomfortable. They are nervous and tense. Only thing the exam table has are leg supports and stirrups. That's actually to make it more comfortable for me so I can relax my legs.

Kinda what I figured, but my knowledge of that stuff is minimal... I thought that sex was peeing in a girls butt until i was 12 or so (yes, not I know much better but still, everyone let me think that!)

Yeah most guys wouldn't really know about the yearly exams. It's honestly pretty quick and routine. Not like I'm sitting their with my legs spread for the whole time either. My doc is pretty efficient. She takes a quick look around, does her swab when I get that done and bingo. Outta there.

Since I don't fornicate, nor that I manipulate my body, I actually have never been to an annual checkup and I feel that as long I don't have sexual relationships, there is no need to go and do a checkup.

There is nobody in my family that suffers from any kinds of disease of issues related to the female reproductive organs and thus, this puts me in the comfortable position that I don't have to think about that kind of checkup for the next 25 years.

I guess that I will eventually have to do one by the time I retire in 40+ years from now but until then, I don't have to bother with them.

Doctor asks when was our last period. Asks if we have any complains and how can they help us. Then proceed to do the pap smear. Occasionally some doctors also do an ultra sound. It's fairly quick but not pleasant at all.

Why would they do an ultrasound if you're not pregnant

Is not the same type of ultrasound they do on pregnant women it's an intrauterine ultrasound to check our uterus and ovaries.

No, they insert the device inside your vagina and then slightly move it around to check your uterus and ovaries.
