Falling out is less of an issue than having one get stuck. Not something that'll happen the first time but after you've replaced 1000 or so over the years, you'll make a mistake.

They are designed for easy removal 99%, but that doesn't always work out.

Grandma's name was, Anne so, I guess she didn't want an Anne, Jr.. She already had a Mike, Jr..

To get graphic, it's easier to get it inserted more if the cervix has lifted. If you are young and inexperienced in using them they can come out if not placed far enough inside. Otherwise, it's fine. The muscles will hold it in place. I never liked the risk of tampon use myself. (TSS) Menstrual cups are much safer, but slightly more difficult to get used to using.
